Within the framework of the missions defined in Articles 12 and 17 of Law No. 98-11 of 29 Rabie Ethani 1419, corresponding to August 22, 1998, as amended and supplemented, the institution is responsible for carrying out the scientific research and technological development programs established in its founding decree (Article 4).

In this context, the institution is specifically tasked with:

  • Collecting the necessary elements to identify research projects to be undertaken, as well as the data enabling their planning, execution, and evaluation;
  • Promoting and facilitating the assimilation, mastery, advancement of science and technology, as well as technological innovation in the field of Building and Construction;
  • Ensuring scientific and technological monitoring related to Building and Construction;
  • Gathering and processing scientific and technical information and ensuring its preservation and dissemination;
  • Contributing to the valorization of research results, particularly by overseeing their dissemination, exploitation, and utilization;
  • Ensuring the continuous training, retraining, and professional development of research personnel;
  • Contributing to education through and for research;
  • Ensuring coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of research units, laboratories, and teams.
